# ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini via MCP

> Connect ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini CLI to Revol: OAuth, company and tool selection, connection checks, and access revocation

Revol MCP lets you work with company data directly in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini CLI. The assistant can read data and perform operations available to you on conversations, leads, products, AI agents, and analytics.

## Before connecting

* Sign in to your Revol account and check that you can access the company you need.
* The company's subscription must include access to the MCP module.
* Your ChatGPT/Claude account or workspace must allow custom MCP connectors. If the option is missing, check access settings with your administrator.

## Connection settings

| Field | Value |
| - | - |
| Name | `Revol` |
| Server URL / Connection | `https://revol-ai.app/mcp` |
| Authentication | **OAuth** |
| OAuth client registration, if offered | Automatic / **DCR** |
| Client ID and Client Secret | Leave blank for automatic registration |
| Transport, if offered | **Streamable HTTP** |

<Note>
  Revol requires authentication when establishing the connection. Choose **OAuth** in ChatGPT: **No authentication** causes **The MCP server denied access**.
</Note>

## ChatGPT

1. Open **Add custom MCP server** in your interface's apps, connectors, or plugins section.
2. Use the settings above and select **OAuth**. You do not need to enter a Client ID or Client Secret manually.
3. Confirm the connection setup. On the Revol page, sign in and grant access as described below.
4. Return to ChatGPT and finish installing the plugin. Start a new chat, select **@Revol** in the message, and ask it to call `revol_whoami` using read access only.

For the icon field, download the [Revol PNG logo](https://revol-ai.app/favicon.png): **256 × 256 px, 2.7 KB**. It fits the form's 10 KB limit.

For current menu locations, see the [OpenAI guide](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/custom-mcp-server).

## Claude

In **Connectors**, add a custom connector using the settings above. If prompted, choose **Sign in now** and **Register automatically** for the OAuth client. Grant access in Revol, then enable the connector in your chat.

For menu locations and administrator permissions, see the [Claude guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp).

## Gemini CLI

In an installed Gemini CLI, add the same Streamable HTTP endpoint:

```bash theme={null}
gemini mcp add --transport http Revol https://revol-ai.app/mcp
```

Start Gemini CLI and run `/mcp auth Revol` to complete OAuth in your browser. Check the connection with `/mcp`. Automatic discovery and client registration use the same Revol authorization flow as other clients.

These steps are for **Gemini CLI**. The Gemini website and other Google products have their own integration options; adding a server to the CLI does not enable it there.

## Grant access in Revol

On the consent screen:

1. Select one or more companies for the assistant. A long list scrolls within the form.
2. Choose the toolset that matches your task.
3. Click **Allow** to return to ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini CLI.

| Toolset | Purpose |
| - | - |
| **Conversations & sales** | Conversations, teamwork, leads, products, and department scripts |
| **AI agents administration** | Agents, workflows, knowledge base, files, channels, and company settings |
| **Analytics, billing & tracking** | KPIs, metrics, billing, diagnostics, and website tracking |
| **Full access** | All tools available within your permissions and subscription |

The profile limits the toolset without expanding your role. The assistant acts as the person who authorized the connection; company, workspace, and subscription restrictions still apply. “Full access” does not grant administrator rights.

## Check the connection

Ask the assistant:

> Use Revol to show the companies available to this connection.

If you selected several companies, name the company in each task, for example: “Use Revol to list products for the company ‘Example’.” Each operation must run in the context of one company.

## Compare metrics with the Dashboard

Compare the same company, period and filters. **24h** in the Dashboard means the preceding 24 hours, including part of the previous day. A request for “today” or `date_from=date_to` selects a calendar day and can return lower counts.

To match the Dashboard, ask: “Use Revol to show tracking for the selected company over the last 24 hours (`period=24h`, without `date_from` or `date_to`) with the same filters. Include the exact time range, time zone and retrieval time.” For another period button, use `7d`, `30d` or `90d` respectively.

`revol_tracking_dashboard` returns this information in `context`, including the company and applied filters. Explicit dates take precedence over `period`; the entire end date is included. Unique visitors across multiple days are counted for the whole period: adding daily counts can overcount returning visitors.

## Manage and revoke access

Open the relevant company in Revol and go to **My Assistant**. The connection card lets you disable individual tools or click **Disconnect**. The connection's creator or an owner of a company included in it can manage the connection.

Disconnecting revokes the entire connection, including all companies selected for it. To choose a different set of companies or another profile, complete OAuth again. If your client still shows an old tool list, refresh it or start a new chat.

## Tools are enabled in Revol but missing in the chat

The switches in **My Assistant** control what Revol allows this connection to use. The client must also load the tool catalog and enable the plugin for the message.

In ChatGPT, open the connection and select **Refresh** (or refresh actions in workspace app settings), review the discovered tools and their permissions, then start a new chat with **@Revol**. Test with `revol_whoami`. Some plans, modes or workspace policies permit only read tools. See [OpenAI connection and action controls](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12584461-connecting-custom-mcp-servers-in-chatgpt).

For any MCP client, if a large catalog causes discovery problems, reconnect with the task-specific toolset you need. A successful OAuth screen or a reply saying “connected” does not replace an actual successful tool call.

The app card (description, category, developer, website and logo) is managed by the client. Its saved fields may differ from server metadata; changing the card does not fix tool discovery.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | What to check |
| - | - |
| **The MCP server denied access** immediately when adding the server | Set **Authentication → OAuth** and reconnect using `https://revol-ai.app/mcp` |
| `401` or `Missing bearer token` when opening the URL in a browser | The URL is not a login page. Add it in your MCP client and complete OAuth |
| A company is missing from the consent screen | Check which Revol account you signed in with and whether it has access to that company |
| Connected, but no tools are available or an operation is denied | Check the company's subscription, your role, the profile, and disabled tools in **My Assistant** |
| The assistant does not know which company to use | Specify a company you allowed when connecting |
| The connection stopped working after revocation | Authorize Revol again through OAuth |
| A default icon appears instead of the Revol logo | Upload the PNG logo in the connector's icon field |
